R25, a protocol specializing in institutional-grade asset-backed tokens, today launched with Polygon as its first partner. It introduces rcUSD+, a yield-bearing stable token backed by real-world assets, into one of DeFi’s most active ecosystems.
R25’s rcUSD+ token provides stable yield through a portfolio of money market funds and structured notes. Unlike many stablecoin models, rcUSD+ incorporates multiple layers of credit enhancements to boost reliability. Its composable design enables use as collateral across Polygon-based DeFi applications, supporting capital efficiency and liquidity.
Polygon’s co-founder Sandeep Nailwal mentioned that institutional-grade RWAs is a critical step in DeFi’s maturation.
“R25’s rigorous approach to risk management and transparent, yield-bearing products will provide immense value to both our users and the protocols building here,” he noted.
To secure asset data and enhance trust, R25 uses technology from Ant Digital Technologies. Ant’s blockchain, AI, and IoT-powered solutions ensure that tokenized assets are backed by verifiable operational and revenue data. This reduces opacity in RWA markets and allows tokenized products to carry higher credibility among institutional investors.
Jason Windawi, Chief Strategy Officer at R25, said: “Our mission is to build the most robust, institutional-quality structured products for the on-chain world.”
“Launching on Polygon allows us to bring these powerful DeFi primitives to an ecosystem that has pioneered innovations at the intersection of RWAs and DeFi, enabling a new wave of secure, yield-bearing instruments,” Jason added
The integration highlights Polygon’s increasing role as a hub for RWA tokenization. By offering yield-bearing assets on-chain, R25 is targeting both institutional players and developers looking for stable, composable building blocks. The move could expand DeFi use cases beyond speculation into longer-term, finance-driven strategies.
R25’s design ensures rcUSD+ can serve multiple functions across Polygon’s infrastructure—acting as collateral, a yield-generating base asset, and a liquidity enhancer for lending protocols. The partnership also aims to attract institutional liquidity to Polygon, signaling broader convergence between blockchain ecosystems and traditional financial markets.
